Product Summary

A 316 stainless steel sanitary pneumatic ball valve — the V-3NM high-mount three-piece valve with a rack-and-pinion air actuator, double-acting (DA) or spring-return (SR), air supply 4–8 bar. Full port, 1000 WOG, PTFE seat in fully or semi encapsulated design. Tri-Clamp or extended OD-tube butt-weld ends, sizes 1/2″–4″; the ISO 5211 high-platform pad takes the actuator directly, no bracket needed.

Product Description

This sanitary pneumatic ball valve pairs our V-3NM high-mount hygienic ball valve with a rack-and-pinion air actuator — double-acting (DA) or spring-return (SR). The valve is cast 316 stainless steel (ASTM A351 CF8M), full port, rated 1000 WOG, with a PTFE seat in fully or semi encapsulated design for dairy, beverage, food and pharmaceutical lines with automated cleaning cycles.

The ISO 5211 high-platform pad means the actuator bolts straight onto the valve — no bracket, no coupling to fabricate. Two end styles cover both ways hygienic lines are built: Tri-Clamp ferrules (V-3NM) or extended OD-tube butt-weld ends (V-3NM-L3). Prefer a hand lever? See the manual sanitary ball valve; for industrial threaded lines, the 3-piece air actuated ball valve; or browse all sanitary ball valves (Tri-Clamp).

Double-Acting or Spring-Return?

Double-acting (DA) Spring-return (SR)
How it moves Air pressure drives the valve both open and closed Air drives one way; springs drive the return stroke
If air is lost Valve stays where it was Springs move the valve to its preset open or closed position
Best for General automated on/off duty Lines that must land in a defined position when air supply drops

Application Fields & Locations

  • Dairy & beverage: automated on/off duty on milk, juice and soft-drink process lines.
  • Breweries & bottling: valve sequencing on transfer, filling and rinse circuits.
  • Food processing: product lines with automated cleaning cycles, where the full-port bore leaves nowhere for residue to sit.
  • Pharmaceutical & biotech: welded sterile loops using the extended butt-weld ends.

FAQ

Double-acting or spring-return — which should I choose? Double-acting (DA) uses air for both strokes and stays in its last position if air is lost. Spring-return (SR) uses springs for the return stroke, so on air loss the springs move the valve to its preset open or closed position — specify which when you order.

Can I add a solenoid valve or limit switch? Yes. The actuator accepts a solenoid valve for electrical control, a limit switch box for position feedback, and a positioner for modulating service — tell us your control setup when you request a quote.

Tri-Clamp or butt weld — which ends should I choose? Tri-Clamp (V-3NM) if the line is taken apart and cleaned often — the clamp opens without tools. Extended butt weld (V-3NM-L3) for permanently welded sterile loops — the long ends keep welding heat away from the seals.

What does the high-mount ISO 5211 pad do? It is a raised mounting platform cast into the valve, drilled to ISO 5211 (F03–F10 by size). The actuator bolts straight on — no bracket or custom coupling — and the raised platform keeps the actuator clear of the valve body.

Can I mix Tri-Clamp and butt-weld ends on one order? Yes. Both are available across the 1/2″–4″ range; state the size, connection and actuator type for each line item.

What is the minimum order? No minimum order quantity — we accept orders of any size, including small trial orders. For small orders, freight is arranged and paid by the buyer. Payment is by T/T — 30% on order confirmation, 70% before shipment.
