Product Description

This automated valve solves the headache of servicing welded or threaded automated lines. By removing the body bolts, the central valve section (with the actuator attached) can be removed or swung out for inspection. This is critical where seals wear out due to high cycle rates or where sanitary cleaning is required.

The valve is a 3-piece full port stainless steel ball valve with an ISO 5211 mounting pad, driven by a rack-and-pinion aluminum alloy pneumatic actuator in Double Acting (DA) or Spring Return (SR) versions. 316 stainless steel is in stock; 304 is made to order. For how pneumatic automation fits stainless valve lines, see our pneumatic valve automation guide.

Why a 3-Piece Body Is Right for Automation

  • Lowest maintenance cost: seals can be replaced without demounting the actuator or cutting the assembly out of the pipe.
  • High-cycle durability: automated lines open and close far more often than manual ones — the serviceable body keeps that from becoming a replacement cost.
  • Weld-in without cooking the actuator: with weld ends, the body can be welded into the line first and the actuator mounted after, protecting pneumatic components from heat.
  • Blow-out proof stem and live-loaded PTFE seats on the valve section.

FAQ

Double Acting (DA) or Spring Return (SR) — which should I choose? A DA actuator uses air pressure to both open and close the valve. An SR actuator uses a spring to drive the valve to a preset fail-safe position (open or closed) if air supply is lost. Choose SR where a line must fail safe; choose DA for general on/off duty.

Can I replace the seats without cutting the valve out of the line? Yes. Remove the body bolts and the central section swings out with the actuator still mounted — seats and seals can be serviced in place, then the body is re-assembled.

What air supply does the actuator need? 4 to 7 bar (about 58 to 100 psi) of clean, dry compressed air.

What does ISO 5211 mean? ISO 5211 is the standard for actuator mounting pads. The valve carries an F03–F10 pad depending on size (see the dimension table), so the actuator mounts directly — no bracket — and can be swapped for another ISO 5211 actuator later.

Which end connections are available? Threaded ends in PT, NPT and PF — all in stock — plus socket weld and butt weld. For the JIS-standard butt weld automated valve, see our actuated butt weld ball valve page.

What is the temperature rating? The valve body is rated -20 °C to +180 °C (-4 °F to +356 °F), limited by the PTFE seats. The actuator has its own temperature limits — tell us your service temperature when you request a quote and we will confirm the right combination.
