Product Description
This sanitary ball valve is a manual three-piece valve cast in 316 stainless steel (ASTM A351 CF8M), full port, rated 1000 WOG. A quarter-turn of the lever opens a smooth, tube-matched bore for dairy, beverage, food and pharmaceutical lines.
Two end styles cover both ways hygienic lines are built: Tri-Clamp ferrules for quick, tool-free assembly, and extended OD-tube butt-weld ends for permanently welded loops. The three-piece body unbolts in place, so seats and ball can be inspected, cleaned or replaced without cutting the line. New to hygienic valve specs? Tri-Clamp or Butt Weld?
| Tri-Clamp (V-3N) | Extended Butt Weld (V-3N-L3) | |
|---|---|---|
| Joint | Clamp ferrule — tool-free to install, open and inspect | Welded OD-tube ends (American standard) — a permanent, smooth-bore joint |
| Best for | Lines that are opened and cleaned often | Fixed sterile loops; the extended ends protect the seals during welding |
Both are available across the full 1/2″–4″ range, and you can mix them on one order.
Encapsulated PTFE Seat — Full or Semi
Instead of a plain seat ring, the PTFE seat wraps further around the ball, filling the body cavity where product could otherwise collect. Two designs are available — the actual parts are photographed below. Tell us which your process needs when you request a quote.

- Pharmaceutical & biotech: welded sterile loops using the extended butt-weld ends.
Need automated on/off? See the sanitary pneumatic ball valve. Need to divert flow between two lines? See the sanitary 3 way ball valve.
FAQ
What is a sanitary ball valve? A ball valve built for hygienic lines: 316 stainless steel, a smooth full-port bore matched to the tube, and connections — Tri-Clamp or welded OD tube — that leave no threads where product could lodge. Used in dairy, beverage, food and pharmaceutical processing.
Tri-Clamp or butt weld — which ends should I choose? Tri-Clamp if the line is taken apart and cleaned often: the clamp opens without tools. Extended butt weld if the valve lives in a permanently welded sterile loop — the long ends keep welding heat away from the seals.
What does the encapsulated seat do? The PTFE seat wraps around the ball and fills the body cavity where product could otherwise collect. Fully and semi encapsulated designs are both available — tell us which your process needs when you request a quote.
Can the valve be taken apart for cleaning? Yes. The three-piece body unbolts in place, so you can inspect the bore, clean the internals or replace the seats without cutting the valve out of the line.
Can I mix Tri-Clamp and butt-weld ends on one order? Yes. Both are available across the 1/2″–4″ range; state the size and connection for each line item.
What is the minimum order? No minimum order quantity — we accept orders of any size, including small trial orders. For small orders, freight is arranged and paid by the buyer. Payment is by T/T — 30% on order confirmation, 70% before shipment.
