This MxF ball valve has one male threaded end and one female threaded end on a two-piece 304 stainless steel body. The male end screws straight into a tank outlet, pump port or machine connection; the female end takes the next pipe or hose adapter. No extra nipple, and one threaded joint fewer to leak.

Rated 1000 WOG with PTFE seats and a full-port bore, it gives manual quarter-turn shut-off on water, oil and compressed air lines. Sizes 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″ and 2″. PT threads are in stock; NPT threads and a 316 stainless body are made to order.

When to Choose an MxF Ball Valve

An MxF ball valve has an external (male) thread on one end and an internal (female) thread on the other. The male end screws directly into a tank outlet, pump housing or machine connection, while the female end accepts the next pipe or hose adapter.

This arrangement replaces a separate nipple-and-valve combination. It shortens the assembly and removes one threaded joint that could become a leak point. Choose an MxF valve when the valve mounts directly on equipment or at a hose take-off point.

Applications

An MxF ball valve earns its place wherever the valve has to sit directly on a female port. Typical positions for this 304 stainless valve:

• Tank and vessel outlets: the male end screws into the tank’s female outlet, the female end takes the drain line or hose.
• Pump discharge ports: a direct isolation valve on the pump body, with no nipple between pump and valve.
• Compressor receiver drains: mounted on the receiver’s female drain port for daily condensate blow-down.
• Compressed air drop legs: point-of-use shut-off screwed into the header or manifold outlet.
• Irrigation and dosing manifolds: zone isolation on manifold outlets, with the hose or tubing adapter on the female end.
• Gauge and instrument isolation: the male end goes into the gauge port or process connection so the instrument can be serviced alone.
• Strainer and filter housings: direct connection to female housing ports on line strainers and filters.

What is an MxF ball valve?

Is this a full port ball valve?
Yes. All six sizes have a full-port bore that follows the connected pipe size, which keeps flow restriction and pressure drop low.

What does 1000 WOG mean?

The stated working temperature range is -20 °C to +180 °C, limited by the PTFE seats. Actual allowable pressure can change with temperature and service conditions.

Is 316 stainless steel available?
304 is the standard stocked material. A 316 body is made to order for applications involving chlorides, seawater, brine or a higher risk of pitting corrosion.
