Product Description

The YZNG TRONG SC swing check valve is a stainless steel check valve (non-return valve) with a hinged disc that swings open under forward flow and drops shut when flow stops or reverses — preventing backflow with no power and no operator. Rated 200 WOG and tested to API 598, the threaded body installs inline on water, oil, gas and other liquid lines.

The body is cast 316 stainless steel (ASTM A351 CF8M) with female PT (taper pipe) threaded ends, sizes 1/2″ to 3″. NPT and PF threads, and a CF8 (cast 304) body, can be made to order. On pump duty it pairs naturally with our 316 Y type strainer — strainer on the suction side, check valve on the discharge side.

How the Swing Check Works

  • Automatic backflow prevention: the hinged disc opens with forward flow and closes when flow stops — no actuator or power needed.
  • Low resistance: the swing disc opens clear of the flow path, so pressure drop stays low.
  • Cast 316 stainless (CF8M): corrosion-resistant for water, chemical and marine service.

Swing or Silent — Which Check Valve?

Swing check (this valve) Silent / spring check
Closing action Gravity and reverse flow swing the hinged disc shut A spring closes the valve before flow fully reverses (non-slam)
Pressure drop Low — the disc swings clear of the bore Higher — the spring sits in the flow path
Best for General water, oil and gas lines where low pressure drop matters Pump discharge and lines prone to water hammer

Need the spring type? See our 304 one-piece silent check valve. Need flanged ends instead of threads? See the 304 flanged check valve (swing type, 10K / 150#), or browse all stainless steel check valves.

Application Fields & Locations

  • Pump discharge lines: stops reverse flow from draining the line or spinning the pump backwards after shutdown.
  • Water treatment & wastewater: keeps treated water from flowing back into upstream stages.
  • Chemical, oil & gas lines: one-way flow protection for process piping.
  • Marine service: the molybdenum in 316 resists pitting from chloride-bearing media such as seawater.

FAQ

What is a swing check valve / non-return valve? It lets fluid flow one way only. A hinged disc swings open with forward flow and drops shut when flow stops or reverses, so backflow is stopped automatically — no power or operator needed.

Swing or silent check valve — which one do I need? Choose the swing type for general lines where low pressure drop matters. Choose the spring-loaded silent check valve where water hammer is a concern, such as pump discharge with frequent stops — its spring closes the valve before flow fully reverses.

Can it be installed vertically? Yes — in a vertical line with upward flow, the disc still swings shut when flow reverses. Horizontal installation with the cap facing up is the most common arrangement. Do not install it in a vertical line with downward flow, and always match the arrow on the body to the flow direction.

What material is the body? Cast 316 stainless steel, grade ASTM A351 CF8M — corrosion-resistant for water, chemical and marine duty. A CF8 (cast 304) version is available made to order.

Which thread standards are available? Female PT (tapered) threads are in stock, sizes 1/2″–3″. NPT and PF can be made to order — tell us which standard your piping uses when you request a quote.

What is the minimum order? No minimum order quantity — we accept orders of any size, including small trial orders. For small orders, freight is arranged and paid by the buyer. Payment is by T/T — 30% on order confirmation, 70% before shipment.
