Product Description

This is a lockable ball valve handle in 304 stainless steel — a lever with a padlock hole that secures the valve in either the open or the closed position. Slip a padlock through the hole and the handle can’t be turned, so no one can open or close the line by accident or without authorization.

It is the safety upgrade behind every Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedure: during maintenance you set the valve where it needs to be, lock the handle, and the line stays that way until the padlock comes off. The handle replaces the standard lever across our stainless ball valve range — tell us the valve model and size when you order and we match it to the stem. Browse all manual ball valves, or see the other handle options: extended handle for insulated pipe and the graduated handle with locking pin.

What Is Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO)?

LOTO is the safety practice of physically locking equipment in a safe state before maintenance, so it can’t be energized or opened while someone is working on it. On a ball valve that means holding it open or closed with a padlock that only the authorized worker can remove. This handle provides the lock point — the padlock hole lines up in both the open and closed positions.

Advantages & Benefits

  • Prevents accidental operation: the locked handle can’t be turned, so a valve set for maintenance stays where it is.
  • LOTO compliant: gives energy-isolation procedures a real, physical lock point on the valve.
  • Tamper resistance: in public or unsecured areas, the padlock stops unauthorized switching.
  • 304 stainless: corrosion-resistant for outdoor, washdown and wet environments.

Application Fields & Locations

  • Maintenance isolation: lock a valve open or closed while work is done downstream.
  • Critical supply lines: keep a valve in its intended state so it is never switched by mistake.
  • Public & unsecured areas: prevent tampering on valves the public can reach.
  • Water treatment & utilities: energy-isolation points across plant piping.

FAQ

What does a lockable handle do? It replaces the standard ball valve lever with one that has a padlock hole. With a padlock fitted, the handle cannot be turned — the valve is held open or closed until the lock is removed.

Does it lock in both open and closed? Yes. The padlock hole lines up in both positions, so you can secure the valve either fully open or fully closed.

Which valves does it fit? It is matched to the valve stem across our stainless ball valve range. Tell us the valve model and size when you request a quote and we supply the right handle.

Is a padlock included? No — you supply the padlock so it matches your own LOTO key system. The handle provides the lock point (the padlock hole).

What material is it? ASTM 304 stainless steel, so it resists corrosion in outdoor, washdown and wet installations.

What is the minimum order? No minimum order quantity — we accept orders of any size, including small trial orders. For small orders, freight is arranged and paid by the buyer. Payment is by T/T — 30% on order confirmation, 70% before shipment.
