Product Description

This butt weld ball valve is a two-piece stainless steel valve with welded ends — model V-2B-BW — built for pipelines where a permanent, leak-tight joint matters more than easy removal. The body welds straight into the line, so there are no threads or gaskets at the connection to loosen or seep over time. Worried about drips? See our guide on why ball valves leak and how to prevent it.

Butt weld ends are welded end-to-end onto the pipe, giving a connection as strong as the pipe itself and a smooth bore with no internal pockets. Full port on every size — the bore matches the pipe inner diameter, so pressure drop stays low. The PTFE seat handles general-purpose media, and the lever handle shows open or closed at a glance.

304 and 316 stainless steel are both in stock. Choose 316 when the line carries chloride-bearing media — the molybdenum resists chloride pitting; 304 covers general service.

FAQ

What sizes are available? Four sizes: 1″, 1-1/2″, 2-1/2″ and 3″ — in 304 or 316 stainless steel, both in stock.

304 or 316 — which should I choose? Pick 316 for chloride-bearing media — the molybdenum resists chloride pitting. 304 is fine for general service. Both are stocked, so lead time is the same.

Why butt weld instead of threaded ends? A welded joint is permanent and leak-tight, with no threads or gaskets to loosen — a better fit for long runs and lines you do not plan to open. If you need to remove the valve for service, look at our two-piece threaded ball valve instead.

Will the weld ends match my pipe? Tell us your pipe standard and schedule when you request a quote, and we confirm the end preparation fits before anything ships.

How is this different from the 3-piece butt weld valve? The 3-piece extended butt weld valve opens in the line, so seats can be replaced without cutting the pipe, and its extended ends keep welding heat away from the seats. This two-piece version is the simpler, more economical choice for lines you weld once and leave alone.

Is it full port? Yes. Every size has a bore matching the pipe inner diameter, so pressure drop stays minimal.

What is the minimum order? No minimum order quantity — we accept orders of any size, including small trial orders. For small orders, freight is arranged and paid by the buyer. Payment is by T/T — 30% on order confirmation, 70% before shipment.
