WELD ENDS

The YZNG TRONG seal-welded ball valve is a two-piece stainless steel ball valve whose body and end cap are welded into one piece at the factory. A conventional two-piece ball valve has a threaded body joint — one more place for a leak to start when the pipe is torqued or the line vibrates. Here that joint is sealed by welding, so the only connections left are the two pipe ends.

Cast 304 (CF8) or cast 316 (CF8M), full port, PTFE seats, rated 1000 WOG, −20 °C to +180 °C. Three models share the seal-welded body: V-2B (industrial grade, female PT, NPT or PF threads), V-2C (standard grade for plumbing, same threads) and V-2B-SW with socket weld ends for lines that are welded rather than screwed. On the threaded models the valve is welded at the body joint only — it is not welded to your pipe. The V-2B-SW is welded at both: body joint at the factory, pipe ends on site.

One Body, No Body Joint

  • One less leak path: the body-to-cap joint is welded, so there is no threaded body seal to weep or loosen.
  • Stays tight under pipe torque: tightening the pipe cannot back off a body joint that no longer exists.
  • Same install as any threaded valve (V-2B / V-2C): female threads both ends; screw it in, no welding on site.
  • Or weld the whole line (V-2B-SW): socket weld ends take the pipe straight into the valve, so the line can be welded end to end with no threaded joint anywhere — not at the body, not at the pipe.
  • Vollständiger Port: bore matches the pipe, so pressure drop is close to plain pipe.

V-2B, V-2C or V-2B-SW?

V-2B — industrial grade. Thicker body wall and heavier build for plant utility and process lines: compressed air, water, oil and gas services that cycle often or see mechanical load. Sizes 1/4″ to 3″. A 4″ version is also available; it uses a bolted end cap instead of a welded joint and has its own drawing.

V-2C — standard grade for plumbing. Same seal-welded body and 1000 WOG rating in a standard-wall build, sized 1/4″ to 2″ for building water supply, pump connections, HVAC and compressed-air branches — the everyday threaded ball valve for plumbing and mechanical contractors.

V-2B-SW — socket weld ends. The thicker-wall V-2B body with socket weld sockets in place of female threads, 1/4″ to 4″, and every size including 4″ is seal-welded. For small-bore process, instrument and utility lines that are welded rather than screwed, where a threaded joint at the valve is not acceptable. Made to order in CF8 or CF8M.

Modell Note Größen Körper Am besten geeignet für
V-2B Industriell 1/4″–3″ Thicker wall, seal-welded Plant utility and process lines, frequent cycling, higher mechanical load
V-2C Standard 1/4″–2″ Standard wall, seal-welded Plumbing and building water lines, pumps, HVAC and compressed-air branches
V-2B 4″ Industriell 4″ only Bolted end cap (not welded) Larger threaded lines where 4″ is needed
V-2B-SW Industrial, socket weld 1/4″–4″ Thicker wall, seal-welded, socket weld ends Welded small-bore process, instrument and utility lines; no threaded joint anywhere

Anwendungen

V-2B — industrial plant lines

  • Chemical and petrochemical process piping — shutoff on process and utility lines that see frequent cycling.
  • Compressed air and plant pneumatic systems — header isolation and drops to air-operated equipment.
  • Water and wastewater treatment — dosing manifolds, sampling and analyzer lines; use 316 where chlorides are present.
  • Nitrogen, inert gas and chemical transfer — utility gas distribution and bulk chemical delivery lines.
  • General industrial fluid transfer — oil, water, gas and hydraulic fluid within 1000 WOG and 180 °C.

V-2C — plumbing and building services

  • Domestic hot and cold water isolation — riser and floor isolation in building water supply.
  • HVAC chilled-water and low-temperature hot-water pipework — isolation at coils, pumps and branches.
  • Main and branch shutoff for leak repair — maintenance isolation without draining the whole system.
  • Pump and mechanical-room equipment isolation — quick quarter-turn shutoff either side of pumps and equipment.
  • Building and light-industrial compressed air — workshop and mechanical-room air lines.

V-2B-SW — welded small-bore lines

  • Instrument, sample and small process tie-in lines — small-bore connections where a threaded joint at the valve is not acceptable.
  • Chemical injection and dosing lines — welded small-bore piping for process chemicals; use 316 where chlorides are present.
  • Process and utility lines that cycle hot and cold — a welded joint does not work loose under thermal cycling the way a threaded one can, within −20 °C to +180 °C.
  • Compact hydraulic and oil systems — leak-free connections where space is tight.

For a two-piece valve with male × female ends see the M×F threaded ball valve; for butt weld ends see the two-piece butt weld ball valve; if you need a socket weld valve that can be opened for seat service, see the dreiteiliger Kugelhahn.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Does seal-welded mean the valve is welded to the pipe? No. Seal-welded refers to the joint between the valve body and its end cap, which is welded at the factory. On V-2B and V-2C the pipe connections are ordinary female threads. The V-2B-SW adds socket weld ends, so that model is also welded to the pipe on site.

What is the difference between V-2B and V-2C? Both have the seal-welded two-piece body, full port, PTFE seats and 1000 WOG rating. V-2B has a thicker wall and heavier build for industrial plant lines and comes in 1/4″–3″ (plus a 4″ bolted-cap version); V-2C is the standard-wall grade for plumbing and building services, 1/4″–2″.

What is the V-2B-SW, and when should I choose socket weld over threads? The V-2B-SW is the V-2B body with socket weld ends instead of female threads, 1/4″–4″. Choose threads when the valve may need to be unscrewed and replaced; choose socket weld when the line is welded rather than screwed, or when a threaded joint at the valve is not acceptable. Socket weld is usual on small-bore lines; larger welded lines normally use butt weld ends.

Which materials are in stock? For V-2B, V-2C and the 4″ version, both cast 304 (CF8) and cast 316 (CF8M) are in stock. The V-2B-SW is made to order in either grade. Choose 316 where chloride pitting is a risk, such as coastal or process water with chlorides.

Which threads can I get? Female PT (taper), NPT and PF are all in stock for V-2B, V-2C and the 4″ version — tell us which standard your piping uses when you request a quote. The V-2B-SW has socket weld ends and no threads.

Was bedeutet 1000 WOG? 1000 psi (about 69 bar) cold working pressure for water, oil and gas. Working temperature is −20 °C to +180 °C, with the PTFE seats setting the upper limit.

Is the 4″ size also seal-welded? It depends on the model. The threaded 4″ (DN100) V-2B uses a bolted end cap, so on the threaded models the seal-welded description applies to 1/4″–3″ only — see the separate 4″ dimension sheet. The V-2B-SW is seal-welded in every size, 1/4″ through 4″.

How should the V-2B-SW be welded in? Weld it with the valve fully open. Do not disassemble it — the body is seal-welded and is not meant to come apart. Keep the body cool while welding: wrap it in a wet cloth, weld in short passes and let the body cool between passes so the PTFE seats are not overheated. Let the valve cool down before operating it.
