Description du produit

A wafer-body pneumatic butterfly valve in 316 stainless steel, sized Ø12.7 to Ø101.6 mm (1/2″ to 4″ tube OD). The valve body is clamped between two ferrules and the disc rotates 90° to open or close. A pneumatic actuator sits on the top platform, bolted through four M6 or M8 holes.

It is short, light and cheap compared with a ball valve of the same size — and that is exactly what it is for. Below we show you the dimensions, and we tell you plainly where this valve belongs and where you should be buying a ball valve instead.

Butterfly Valve or Ball Valve? Read This Before You Order

We make both, so we have no reason to push you toward the wrong one. This is the honest version:

Your situation Buy this Pourquoi
Tank isolation, large flow, on/off duty, budget matters Butterfly valve (this page) Short face-to-face, light, and the price gap widens as size goes up
You need a straight, unobstructed bore through the valve Robinet à bille A butterfly disc sits in the flow path even when fully open. A ball valve bore does not.
The medium carries particles, fibres or anything that can wedge Robinet à bille Solids caught between disc and seat stop a butterfly valve from sealing
You need to divert flow between two lines Robinet à bille à 3 voies A butterfly valve is a two-port valve. It cannot divert.
The line runs hot Ask us first The seat, not the body, sets the temperature limit. Tell us your line temperature and we will confirm the valve suits it.

The Seat, Not the Body, Sets the Limit

The seat in this valve is PTFE. The 316 stainless body will take far more heat than the seat will, so the seat is what actually decides whether this valve suits your line — not the body material on the spec sheet.

If your line runs hot — a steam-heated jacket, a hot flush, a hot wash cycle — tell us the temperature before you order. We will confirm whether this valve is the right one, and say so if it is not.

Which Actuator: DA or SR?

  • Double acting (DA) — air drives it open, air drives it closed. Lose the air and the disc stays where it was. Use it where a stuck-in-position valve is acceptable.
  • Spring return (SR) — air drives it one way, a spring returns it the other. Lose the air and the spring takes over. Use it where the valve must land in a known position if the air fails.

Tell us which way the valve must fail and we will quote the matching cylinder. It is the same pneumatic cylinder range we fit to our ball valves, so a plant running both keeps one spare-parts list.

À sa place

  • Tank and silo isolation — the classic butterfly duty. Large bore, on/off, no need for a full straight-through bore.
  • Beverage and liquid food lines — the disc turns through the flow gently, which suits fluids you do not want to shear.
  • Tight piping runs — the face-to-face length is 66–82 mm across the whole range. A ball valve of the same size is far longer.
  • Cost-driven projects at 2″ and above — this is where a butterfly valve is clearly cheaper than a ball valve.

Acheter chez nous

  • Il n'y a pas de quantité minimale de commande. Small trial orders are fine.
  • Fabricant, et non société de négoce. We build these in our own factory in Taiwan and have been making stainless steel valves since 1999.
  • Valve and actuator from one supplier. The cylinder is ours, the valve is ours, and they are matched before they ship. Nothing to figure out on site.

FAQ

What limits the temperature of this butterfly valve?

The seat, not the body. The seat is PTFE, and it reaches its limit long before the 316 stainless body does. Tell us the temperature of your line when you enquire and we will confirm whether this valve suits it.

Is a butterfly valve the right choice, or should I buy a ball valve?

Buy the butterfly valve for tank isolation, large flow and on/off duty, especially at 2″ and above where it is clearly cheaper. Buy a ball valve if you need a straight unobstructed bore, if the medium carries particles that could wedge against the disc, or if you need to divert flow between two lines. We make both and will tell you which one your line needs.

Does the disc stay in the flow path when the valve is open?

Yes. That is how every butterfly valve works — the disc turns edge-on to the flow but never leaves the bore. If you need a clear, unobstructed passage, a ball valve is the valve you want.

Quelles tailles proposez-vous ?

Ø12.7 to Ø101.6 mm, which is 1/2″ to 4″ tube OD. Eight sizes, all listed in the dimension table above.

Which actuator should I order — double acting or spring return?

Double acting if it is acceptable for the disc to stay where it is when the air supply fails. Spring return if the valve must land in a known position on air loss. Tell us which way it has to fail and we will fit the matching cylinder.

How does this valve connect to my pipe?

It is a wafer body: it sits between two ferrules and the clamp holds the assembly together. The valve itself has no threads or welded ends.

Can I order the valve and the actuator together?

Yes, and it is how most customers buy it. The cylinder is ours, the valve is ours, and they are assembled and matched before shipping.

Avez-vous un volume minimum de commande ?

No. Tell us the sizes and quantities you need and we will quote them.
