The trade-off is honest: it cannot be opened for service, and the bore is one pipe size smaller than the line. It belongs where those three things matter more than full flow or in-line repair.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Instrument and gauge line isolation<\/strong> \u2014 the shut-off ahead of a pressure gauge or transmitter, so the instrument can be changed without draining the line. Open it slowly; this is an isolation valve, not a throttling one.<\/li>\n<li><strong>OEM machinery and skid-mounted systems<\/strong> \u2014 small-bore utility shut-offs built into a machine frame or a packaged skid, where the valve is replaced as a unit rather than rebuilt in place.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Instalaciones con poco espacio<\/strong> \u2014 panels, cabinets and pipe runs where a two-piece or three-piece body will not fit.
